Celebrate the holiday season at the Honolulu City Lights! Following the Opening Night Celebration on December 7, 2024, this event will be open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on the Frank F. Fasi Civic Center Grounds and will run through December. Admission is free and open to the public. Please note, the information below does not outline all activities related to this event and is subject to change.
OPENING NIGHT CELEBRATION
Saturday, December 7, 2024
Opening Ceremony: 5:30 p.m.
Light presentation: 6:00 p.m.

WREATH CONTEST
This contest is open to any individual or group residing on Oʻahu. Entrants may submit one wreath. Each wreath can be entered in only one category (Adult Wreath, Youth Wreath, and Theme Category: Christmas for the Keiki).
Entries will be accepted on Monday, December 2, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. in the Lane Gallery of Honolulu Hale. No early entries will be accepted. Each entry must include a 40th Annual Wreath Contest Entry Form.
- One wreath will be selected as the best in show and will receive the Mayor’s Holly Award consisting of a ribbon and monetary award of $200.
- First, second, and third place winners in each of the three categories will receive a ribbon and a monetary award of $150, $100, or $75.
- Two wreaths from each category will be selected to receive a Judges’ Choice Award consisting of a ribbon and a monetary award of $25. Each entrant, individual or group, may win only one award.

PARKING
Parking is free and open to the public at the Frank Fasi Municipal Parking. For those who wish to view the parade in Chinatown can find parking from various nearby lots. Please note, street closures will be implemented for the parade.
