Waikīkī War Memorial Natatorium
August 6, 2025, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

The Renkon Project will premiere on the 80th anniversary of the Hiroshima nuclear bombing. Join us for Live Performance & Film Projection @ Waikīkī War Memorial Natatorium.

7:00 p.m.

Butoh Master Hiroko Tamano will begin our program at sunset, offering a healing Prayer to the Four Directions on the grassy lawn fronting the War Memorial. Butoh is a Japanese dance form that emerged from the atomic bomb experience.

8:00 p.m.

As darkness grows, Taiko Master Kenny Endo will turn our attention toward the Natatorium structure. The Renkon Project video will be projected across its central facade.

9:00 p.m.

The remembrance will close with projections of hibakusha (atomic bomb survivors) telling their stories, messages from civic leaders, and community sharing.
